The Janet Fund has presented an automated external defibrillator (AED) with a wall cabinet to Hubbard Middle School in Plainfield, thanks to a fundraising project by Fund and students of Warren Township Middle School.

The WMS students partnered with the fund in their "Live With Heart" wristband campaign—raising awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Youth. The campaign sought to increase awareness and WMS was the school that raised the most awareness. For their efforts, the students were able to select a New Jersey public school from a list schools that do not have AEDs.

And thanks, in part, to efforts such as the "Live with Heart" campaign, The Janet Fund will be honored by LifeForce USA and The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation for its efforts to educate the citizens of New Jersey about this silent killer. The fund will receive the HERO Award in the Chain of Survival category in a ceremony to be held on June 5 at Great Adventure in celebration of CPR/AED Awareness Week.

The Janet Fund will be recognized for years of continuous effort in support of sudden cardiac awareness. Since its founding in 2006, the organization has donated more than 80 AEDs to New Jersey schools, youth groups, township recreation programs, churches, and missions; trained more than 1,000 people in CPR; and reached over 200,000 individuals through their awareness campaigns.
