The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation was honored to participate in the Cardiac Arrest Survival Summit (CASSummit), hosted by the Citizen CPR Foundation. It was an educational and inspiring event!

Below are some highlights: 

The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation hosted an exhibitor booth. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with so many attendees!

SCAF's Cardiac Arrest Survivor Alliance (CASA) program teamed up with Heartsight to host survivor and co-survivor activities and meet-ups throughout the conference (complete with music from Maurice Trosclair, and a visit from CPR Man!).

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation team members presented in concurrent sessions and hosted a breakfast with champions discussion.

Additionally, SCAF board members, Ankur Doshi, MD - University of Pittsburgh, and Darryl Conway, MA - University of Michigan, presented in the Resuscitation Education (Dr. Doshi) and SCA in Youth & Athletes (Mr. Conway) tracks.

The Survivor & Rescuer Celebration began with survivors, co-survivors and rescuers walking in together and a panel discussion from local survivor families.

During the event, Mary Newman was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, co-presented by the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation and the Citizen CPR Foundation. Congratulations to Mary on this well-deserved recognition!

Mary's granddaughter, Tia, a singer/songwriter, performed a special song in honor or Mary!

Gina Peattie presented the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation's People Saving People Award to Stephen Theall, who helped save the life of Heather Freligh in 2023.

Heartbeat NOLA was announced as the winner of the Cardiac Arrest Survival Video Contest, jointly hosted by the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation and Citizen CPR Foundation.

Robby Klaber, SCAF's treasurer, was honored as a 40 under 40 awardee. Walter Watts, SCAF community ambassador, was also honored as a recipient. Congratulations to Robby, Walter, and all those recognized!

We had a wonderful time connecting with so many advocates, survivors, co-survivors, lay responders, researchers and more! We look forward to CASSummit 2027!
