WELCH, MN--A three-day competition of more than 30 candidates at Treasure Island Resort & Casino culminated Friday with the crowning of Miss Minnesota 2024 and Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2024. Emily Schumacher, an at-large contestant representing the title of Miss Mankato, is the new Miss Minnesota, and Brynn Olson, representing the Bemidji area as Miss Northern Lakes’ Teen, was crowned Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2024.
Emily Schumacher, Miss Minnesota 2024, is the recipient of a $10,000 educational scholarship and will represent Minnesota at the 2025 Miss America competition.
Schumacher works as a CNA at Mayo Clinic Health Systems and sales associate at J. Longs Lifestyle Shop. She is a 2022 Honors Graduate of Northern State University. Her community service initiative, which she will promote during her year of service, is “The Heart of the Matter,” advocating for heart health and heart disease prevention.
She is a certified CPR/AED instructor and has taught more than 4,000 people these lifesaving skills. She also participated in the Annual National CPR & AED Awareness Rally & March in Washington, D.C. in 2023 and 2024.
“As Miss Minnesota, my medical expertise and the power of the Miss America Opportunity can create an incredible community that will amplify the importance of heart health and create a healthier nation,” said Schumacher.
Emily has earned over $30,000 in scholarships by competing in the Miss Minnesota Organization, and is proud to have also raised over $25,000 in scholarship funds.
