"Call-Push-Shock: A National Movement to Save Lives," will be presented (virtually) next week at Take Heart America (Sept. 15) and EMS World Expo (Sept. 16). Call-Push-Shock, co-sponsored by Parent Heart Watch (PHW) and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation (SCAF), is a growing national movement aimed at increasing public understanding of sudden cardiac arrest and the vital importance of immediate bystander intervention to save more lives.
About 1,000 people suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrest each day in the U.S. One in 10 victims survives, but 5 in 10 could survive. Call-Push-Shock aims to teach the public to help save lives by calling 911, starting CPR, and using automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
Mary M. Newman, MS, President, SCAF, will present on behalf of her colleagues Jennifer Chap (StrateVerve, Buddy CPR, SCAF Advisor) and Martha Lopez-Anderson (PHW).
Forty-one organizations have joined the Call-Push-Shock movement since it was launched in 2018. And, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now lists Call-Push-Shock as a resource on their website.
