Teri was awake at 4:30 am when her husband went into sudden cardiac arrest in his sleep. She heard his breathing change. After trying to wake him and checking for vitals, she called Ponca City 911.
Teri began CPR and continued for twelve minutes, working alone to keep blood flowing while waiting for help to arrive.
A paramedic from the Ponca City Fire Department arrived on scene with the ambulance close behind. They took over CPR, delivering one shock inside the home and another in the ambulance before transporting him to the hospital.
A Life Saved Through Early CPR
Teri’s efforts and CPR training sustained him until emergency crews could reach their home from eight miles away. Early CPR saved Travis’s life.
