An ordinary day, as Kay went in the kitchen to get a glass of water. Kay's husband, Ralph, heard her fall. He immediately called his daughter, Betsy.
Betsy's Courage and Action
Kay's daughter Betsy ran down the stairs and immediately started performing CPR. For more than 15 minutes, Betsy continued CPR, refusing to give up until help arrived. First responders and EMTs reached home and transported Kay to the hospital.
Later the cardiologist said that without Betsy’s immediate intervention, Kay would not have survived. At the moment of her collapse, Kay’s heart had already stopped. Betsy’s prompt CPR gave her mother the time to fight for her life. Betsy gifted her mother nearly 30 more years of togetherness and memories with her family.
