JoAnne Taylor Babbitt is Vice President and co-founder of the John Taylor Babbitt Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization named in memory of her son and dedicated to preventing sudden cardiac death.

Ms. Babbitt has dedicated her efforts in support of the foundation's objectives to install automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in all places of public assembly. Her work also includes proposing legislation and lobbying for laws expanding the placement of AEDs at both the state and national level. Ms. Babbitt and the Foundation were responsible for successfully sponsoring and lobbying for the NJ “Good Samaritan” bill in 2012 and the “CPR/AED” training in schools bill in 2014.  Her activities also include working with municipalities, schools and other organizations on policies and procedures to support the purchase and maintenance of AEDs and the development of sudden cardiac arrest plans.

Ms. Babbitt received her BA in Business Administration/Accounting from Rutgers College – Rutgers University and her MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.  Prior to starting the John Taylor Babbitt Foundation, she was a Managing Director in the Private Bank and Global Securities Divisions at JP Morgan - Chase Manhattan Bank for 21 years.
