The Auburn, Ala., Police Division has eight new automated external defibrillators (AEDs) thanks to Auburn University fraternities and sororities which raised the funds. The AEDS were presented to the Auburn police by the Office of Greek Life.
The devices are portable electronic devices that are used in cases of life threatening cardiac arrhythmias that have led to cardiac arrest.
They will be placed in designated patrol vehicles and used by trained officers in rendering critical first responder aid.
