The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation proudly led a powerful Week of Action during National CPR & AED Awareness Week (June 1–7)—a nationwide effort to raise awareness, inspire training, and build readiness to save lives from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
Through daily themes, social media engagement, national giveaways, and a growing network of advocates, the campaign reached thousands and sparked meaningful action across the country.
Daily Themes That Drove the Message:
Each day of the week highlighted a key theme:

-
Storytelling Sunday – Amplifying survivor stories
-
Myth Busting Monday – Correcting common misconceptions about SCA, CPR, and AEDs
-
Training Tuesday – Promoting CPR/AED education and skills, and highlighting the work of advocates who promote training
-
Wisdom Wednesday – Sharing insights, research, and readiness tips and statistics in collaboration with our partners
-
Thankful Thursday – Honoring rescuers
-
Fundraising Friday – Encouraging support for programs that save lives and launching the SCAF online store
-
Survivor Saturday – Celebrating survivors and promoting the Cardiac Arrest Survivor Alliance (CASA), a program of SCAF
The results were energizing. During the Week of Action, SCAF saw:
-
A 58% increase in social media engagement
-
195 Facebook shares and 93 new Instagram followers
-
Expanded reach to new audiences, advocates, and communities
These numbers reflect more than metrics—they represent a growing national movement determined to improve survival from sudden cardiac arrest.
Giveaways That Sparked Action
To promote participation and preparedness, SCAF offered:
-
In partnership with HSI: free access to remote CPR skills training, helping individuals learn lifesaving techniques from home
-
In partnership with Defibtech, an AED giveaway, awarding one AED to a member of CASA in need
