The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation staff and volunteers worked to raise awareness about its mission and initiatives during EMS Today in Baltimore, March 1-3. Initiatives include:

Bob Huebner, Carissa O'Brien, and Volunteer Matt StraussTo promote the People Saving People(TM) award, two bystanders who saved lives were interviewed by Carissa Caramanis O'Brien. Matthew Strauss, 26, used an AED to save the life of a 48-year-old spectator at a high school basketball game nine years ago. (See attached, page 12.) Bob Huebner, used an AED to save the life of a 17-year-old player six years ago at a basketball practice.

The Foundation also conducted an AED drawing at the conference. The winner, John Sinclair, was randomly chosen by Huebner. Sinclair is Kittias Fire Rescue Chief and Emergency Manager, City of Ellensburg, WA, and Director of the EMS Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
