PITTSBURGH, PA--Paul F. Pendergast has been elected to serve on the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation Board of Directors. He previously chaired the Board in the organization’s infancy.

Pendergast works in private practice as a management consultant specializing in sales, marketing and business development, dealing primarily with business development opportunities for non-profit clients, and medium to very large for-profit companies, hospitals and institutions of higher learning. He also serves as Director of Client Relations at Alchemi, LLC, and as a consultant to Theia Satellite Network.

Earlier, Pendergast was the Executive Vice President of Investor Relations for Back9Network, and Senior Vice President (SVP) of Institutional Advancement for the Connecticut Public Television Network, Inc. Previously, he was the Interim Athletic Director (2011-12) at the University of Connecticut, which was his second tour at UConn. From 1998-2006, he was UConn's Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.

In 2006, he took a position at Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT as president of the Hospital’s Foundation and an SVP of the Hospital. Saint Francis is the largest Catholic Hospital in New England. During his time at Saint Francis, Pendergast led his team to record-breaking fundraising results six years in succession. He also accomplished similar results while at UConn.

From 1968 until his retirement in 1998, Paul held various managerial and executive level positions with the IBM Corporation and its affiliates, both domestically and abroad.

Pendergast is active with many community non-profit boards, advisory boards and committees in the Greater Hartford area. He sits on the boards of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, and BEACON, Inc. a biomedical development group. He also is a past committee member of the Mandell Jewish Community Center, the Urban League of Greater Hartford, and the CT Chapter of the American Heart Association. He has served as Chairman (2007-present) of the Connecticut Veterans Parade and Chairman of that organization's Foundation.

Pendergast is a 1968 graduate of Grove City (PA) College with continuing work on an advanced degree in Business Management from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX.
