HELPLichtenstein-based HELP International AG has introduced a full-outdoor digital out-of-home (DooH) communication device with a professional emergency lifesaving system in a single freestanding unit, branded HELP, which stands for stands for Human Emergency Life Point. The announcement comes after three years of research and development, more than 24 months of real-time field testing and an investment of more than several million Euros, the company said.

The HELP terminal offers either single- or dual-display digital signage with LCD panels and a computer system based on the latest Apple Mac mini generation, paired with DooH software. Portrait displays on the unit range from 55 to 82 inches.

The terminal housing is able to withstand rain, dust, heat, frost and temperatures ranging from 40 degrees below zero to 167 degrees, the company said. Each HELP terminal also contains a semi- or fully automated, layperson-friendly defibrillator that is accessible 24/7.

In the U.S. alone, about 300,000 people lose their lives annually due to sudden cardiac arrest. Without first aid and the availability of a defibrillator, the average survival rate is four to seven percent, the company said. The survival rate increases to 70 percent when the symptoms are recognized early and defibrillation and resuscitation are provided without delay, even by an inexperienced person with only basic knowledge, the company said.

According to HELP International, its mission is to draw attention to the problem of sudden cardiac arrest worldwide, the general lack of knowledge of how to help and to actively make a positive change to the public's awareness.
