Take a step for survival. Join the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation team at the Highmark Walk for a Health Community in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 14th. Can't walk with us that day? You can still support the team by donating here.

About 1,000 people experience sudden cardiac arrest every single day in the U.S., and most of them die. Those who do survive invariably received immediate CPR and treatment with a defibrillator.

We'll have a team at the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community* on May 14th in Pittsburgh to bring attention to this public health crisis and the simple things anyone can do to save a life.

We're honored that local Rock 'n Roll legend, WDVE DJ Sean McDowell, will be walking with us. And we invite survivors, people who have lost a loved one to cardiac arrest, rescuers, CPR instructors, and other advocates to join us.

CPR-AED demonstrations will be provided at the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation booth by our partner, Start-the-Heart.

Funds raised by our team will be used to support our programs and initiatives, including the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Network, an online community for people affected by sudden cardiac arrest. The individual or team raising the most for the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation (minimum of $500) will win an automated external defibrillator.

Please join or support our team today. Contributions are tax-deductible and go directly to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation.

Thank you for taking a step for survival. Together, we will make survival from sudden cardiac arrest the rule, rather than the exception.

*The walk is spearheaded by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield to help nonprofit organizations raise funds to support their causes. Highmark underwrites all expenses associated with the walk so that every dollar raised for a participating nonprofit goes directly to that organization.
