My body on April 6, 2018 went into Cardiac Arrest. I’ve had 5 stents, 1 ablation, 1 pacemaker, out of work for 4 months, and 36 weeks of cardiac rehabilitation. I was without a pulse for up to 20-25 minutes before the AED was able to get my heart back into rhythm.

My wife’s friends who had invited us to the Masters golf tournament last year where I had my cardiac arrest asked us if we were interested in returning. At first I was reluctant and the more I thought about the invite the more I was determined to appreciate the return visit and to have a prayer at the site where I was victim to Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

The morning of the return I could feel the anxiety building up. After parking the vehicle many thoughts were stirring in my head and heart. The first was going through the metal detector for the first time. They had a special line for me for which they used a wand to check me in. Then the goosebumps started from head to toe knowing how close I came to making this famous site my resting place. God's angels were placed perfectly in order for my body and mind to be able to make a return.

My family, friends, co-workers and medical technicians were so instrumental in my recovery. I was astonished with my determination and perseverance to overcome the obstacles and hurdles that starred me down. Your mind can go to 0-60 in a blink of an eye and the body does the same.

The rebuild of the body along with a 40 lbs weight loss was the next step to some normalcy. The Cardiac Rehab program which lasted 36 weeks is the key to having confidence that the heart muscle can perform to its potential. Your stamina and muscle rebuild is essential for you to feel like your old self.

My life has brought me from lowest of lows and the highest of highs. That being said, I believe both myself and Tiger Woods have had our lives go in a full circle and the Masters golf tournament was both our statements that we made it. We both appreciate life--that if you put your mind, body and soul along with the higher spirit, any dream can be fulfilled.

May our hearts beat together to make our world the better place that God intended it to be. Thanks again for support from this program to spread the word that SCA can have a full recovery.
