The Second Annual Cardiac Arrest Survivor Celebration hosted by Pennsylvania Heart Rescue, in collaboration with Penn Medicine and the PA Department of Health, is scheduled for May 20in Lancaster, PA. Survivors, family members, and EMS providers are invited to participate.
The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation participated in the first annual event and was represented by Sue Hostler and Bob Hallinan. Sue, a business traveler, provided CPR to Bob, 25, at the Philadelphia airport in 2013. An estimated 600 victims in Pennsylvania survived sudden cardiac arrest in 2013, representing eight percent of those affected.
