My name is Matthew O’Donnell I am a Firefighter and Paramedic in the city of Warwick, RI.  I am also an Account Executive for Emergency Medical Group (EMG) a company that specializes in Public Access Defibrillation programs.

EMG’s sales strategy is to educate, so they’ve hired individuals such as me who are professional responders and educators rather than stereotypical sales people.  I have been working as a First Responder, EMT, Paramedic and Firefighter in various communities throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts for the past sixteen years and I have been an American Heart Association instructor for CPR, ACLS and PALS for the past eight years.

I have both a personal and professional interest in Public Access Defibrillation and Bystander CPR. Personally, I have had four friends that have been victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, two of whom were successfully resuscitated and two of whom were not.  Professionally, I’ve lost many more than I’ve saved and I realize it is because no matter how good my equipment or training is I just can’t beat time.

As an Account Executive my goal is to use the experience and training I have gathered throughout my career to promote the chain of survival through direct solicitation, servicing and training of public access AEDs and bystander CPR.   I can be contacted at modonnell@emedgroup.com  or at 1-800-638-5857ext. 805.
