The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation was proud to participate in the 6th Annual CPR & AED Awareness Rally & March in Washington, D.C., held July 23–25, 2026. The inspiring event brought together sudden cardiac arrest survivors, families, advocates, healthcare professionals, and leaders from across the country to raise awareness about the importance of CPR training, AEDs, and community preparedness.
Hosted by Ed Kosiec, leader of Every Second Counts CPR and a SCAF board member, the event featured opportunities for connection, advocacy, education, and action. Heart advocates gathered at George Washington University for a meet-and-greet, followed by a powerful rally and marches through the nation’s capital, including CPR & AED demonstrations at D.C. landmarks to amplify the message of preparedness and response when sudden cardiac arrest occurs.
The weekend continued with a training day featuring free CPR and AED demonstrations, survivor and family meetups, heart screenings, and community education. The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation was proud to host an outreach table during Saturday’s activities, sharing information about our programs, resources, and ongoing efforts to support survivors, families, and communities. We were excited to share information about how to get involved in our H.E.A.R.T. Champion program, Cardiac Arrest Survivor Alliance (CASA) program, and Ready to Respond campaign.
