Call-Push-Shock: A National Movement

Call-Push-Shock: A National Movement

The Call-Push-Shock campaign, co-sponsored by Parent Heart Watch and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, members of the National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Collaborative, aims to encourage organizations to speak in one voice in an effort to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and help save more lives. The campaign aligns with the 2015 recommendations of the Institute of Medicine, now known as the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, to strengthen stakeholder collaboration and cultivate a culture of action through public awareness and training that features simple, unified messaging. The campaign messaging is based on consumer research conducted for the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation by StrataVerve, which identified key messages that resonate with the public.

Twenty-nine organizations have joined the campaign to date, including: Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation, John Taylor Babbitt Foundation, Buddy CPR, Cardiac Science, Cardio Partners, Championship Hearts Foundation, Citizen CPR Foundation, Defibshop, Enerspect Medical Solutions, Greater Williamsburg HEARTSafe Alliance, HeartBeat NOLA, HeartRescue Project, Heart Rhythm Society, HeartStart Foundation, Illinois Heart Rescue, In A Heartbeat, Laerdal, Life Safety Solutions, Dominic A. Murray 21 Memorial Foundation, National Safety Council, One Beat CPR + AED, Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation, Project ADAM, PulsePoint, SADS Foundation, Screening America, Starting Hearts Foundation, Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association/Anthony Bates Foundation and ZOLL Medical Corporation.

Proposed social media messaging, in English and Spanish, was distributed to partner organizations to use throughout October, National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month.

Results of the Call-Push-Shock campaign will be presented at the American Heart Association Resuscitation Science Symposium (November 16-17) in Philadelphia and at the Cardiac Arrest Survival Summit (December 10-13) in Seattle. An informal meeting of Call-Push-Shock participants will take place in Seattle.

Partners and supporters are invited to use these hashtags in social media throughout October: #CallPushShock #ScaAwarenessMonth #YouCanSaveALife

Organizations interested in joining the campaign are encouraged to reach out to contact [at] callpushshock [dot] org.
