Award based on outstanding online reviews

PITTSBURGH, PA -- Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation announced today it has been named a “2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews of charities and nonprofits.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation provides education, research and community resources throughout the U.S., resulting in improved public understanding of sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of immediate bystander intervention with CPR and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), which, in turn, save more lives.

“We are honored to be named a 2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit,” says Mary M. Newman, MS, President & CEO, Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation. “We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including development of new educational resources; a robust digital presence; outreach at multiple national conferences; co-leadership of the national Call-Push-Shock campaign that has attracted 50 co-partners and is featured on the CDC website; research related to post-resuscitation quality of life among survivors and their family members; and support for this growing community, as well as those who have lost loved ones to SCA.”

The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews that Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation received from volunteers, donors and constituents.

“How do I best convey the amazing impact the SCA Foundation has had on my wife and I since she survived a cardiac arrest?,” said one reviewer. “The survivor resources, the depth of information, the promotion for helping people understand an SCA—and it’s all so professionally done and with such care and compassion. Its importance for patients and survivors can’t be overstated. Couple that with the connections, intellect and heart of the organization’s co-founder, and it is top-notch. We feel blessed to have found them.”

“Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits. “Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation.”

GreatNonprofits is the leading website where people share stories about their personal experiences on more than 1.6 million charities and nonprofits. The GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Awards are the only awards for nonprofits determined by those who have direct experience with the charities – as donors, volunteers and recipients of aid.
