Much too often we hear "He/She died in his/her sleep.
This happens even when someone is sleeping next to the person.
It happens because in most cases of sudden cardiac arrest, the stricken person cannot even yell, let alone press a button (as in those alert systems) or call 911.

So in essence, an astonishingly low number, just 8% of SCA victims survive, the number is so low, because they could not alert anybody to give them CPR or use a nearby AED.
Unfortunately only when celebrities die in hotel rooms, it makes news. Wonder how many people are found by the housekeeper the next morning, or elderly people die at home alone because they suffered a SCA and could not alert anybody.

This immensely important time gap between event and first response arrival, be it CPR or a person with and AED needs to be closed to improve survival rates and have more survival stories.

Our invention - the i-heartalert system is going to be the answer. It is not a medical device and will not treat disease, but if used properly will send automatic alerts, without any prompt in case of sudden heart stoppage. Ideally suited for persons with a history of heart disease or those who are alone for extended periods of time, such as business travelers or elderly at home alone.

I am a SCD survivor. I just fell over dead at a restaruant. An ER doctor having dinner gave me CPR until paramedics arrived. Defib hit 3 times. Having trouble with memory now. Saw the light. Has anyone else seen the light? New to this site today.
