Bystander CPR Highlighted During National CPR and AED Awareness Week

American Heart Association urges the public to learn CPR and act in cardiac emergencies to help save lives

DALLAS, TX--Do you know the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR? Performing CPR can double or even triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival. Higher bystander CPR rates have been linked to greater survival rates after a cardiac arrest but currently, bystanders only perform CPR 37% of the time.

Call-Push-Shock Video Recognized as One of Top 10 Resources for CPR-AED Awareness Week

The American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, and the National Safety Council combined efforts to focus this year’s CPR and AED awareness week (June 1-7) on not only CPR skills, but on bystander willingness to act. Laerdal Medical Corporation recognized their efforts, along with those of other partners, stating "To support their efforts, we are sharing with you some of our favorite content, some ours, some from our partners and public resources. We hope that you use it as you create a community of bystanders who will act in the event of witnessing a cardiac arrest."
