Winner of Spring 2010 Video Contest Announced

Check back in late August for information on the Fall 2010 Video Contest, or contact info [at] sca-aware [dot] org to be notified when the Fall 2010 contest details are announced. For planning purposes, here’s the way the contest works.

Here’s how:

  • Assign teams of students to write, film, star in and edit their own short  (3–5 minute) video promoting the importance of knowing how to do CPR and use an AED.
  • Indicate whether you would like to enter the Elementary School Category, the Middle School Category, the Secondary School Category, or the College Category.
  • The SCA Foundation panel of judges will review videos for overall message, creativity, originality, student participation, and likelihood to raise awareness about saving lives threatened by sudden cardiac arrest. Finalists for all categories will be posted on the SCA Foundation’s website and its YouTube Channel and promoted to schools nationwide.

Prizes:

  • 5 winners will be selected. 5 AEDs will be given away.  (One winner per category plus a Grand Prize Winner.)
  • The Grand Prize Winner will also win a Nintendo Wii game system.
  •  Follow-up winners will receive t-shirts.

Rules and submission instructions:

  • To enter the contest you first need a YouTube account. It’s free and easy, signup here. (For those not permitted to access YouTube you you can send us your video instead - contact form here
  • You’ll then want to check out the SCA Foundation’s channel here. If you subscribe to our channel you’ll automatically see other entries.
  • Next, you will, no doubt, want to make your own video clip and have it posted on our channel to enter the draw. It's that easy, just send us a message with the link to your video!
  • New to YouTube? No problem…they have tons of help, with instructions and even help videos! Learn how to make your video suitable for the contest here.
