PITTSBURGH, PA--The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation is pleased to announce that Kathryn (Katie) Koenig has been elected to serve as Chair of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation Board of Directors.

Koenig is Senior Vice President of Transformation at ATI Physical Therapy in Bolingbrook, Illinois. In her role, Koenig is responsible for strategy development and implementation of key strategic initiatives.

Most recently, she served as Vice President of Strategic Planning for the University of Chicago Medicine. In this role, Koenig managed strategic planning processes, business analytics and the implementation of strategic initiatives.

Previously, Koenig worked at UNC Health Care, where she directed the strategic planning team. Prior to UNC Health Care, Koenig worked at The Boston Consulting Group, a global strategy consulting firm. Based in BCG’s Atlanta office, Koenig  worked with senior executives across many industries to address complex strategic and operational challenges. Prior to BCG, Koenig held positions with The Vanguard Group, a mutual fund company.

Koenig holds an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University where she graduated with honors. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in English with a Music Theory minor from The University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude.

Koenig’s interests include landscape and nature photography, international travel, cycling and spending time with her husband and four dogs.  On the weekends, she can often be found exploring the Chicagoland area with her camera, or at the Chicago beaches with her dogs.

Raising awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and helping to improve the survival rate for victims became a passion for Koenig after she lost her father to sudden cardiac arrest in 2012.

“The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation is greatly honored that Katie Koenig will be serving as Chair of the SCA Foundation Board of Directors,” said Bobby Khan, MD, PhD, immediate past Chair. “She brings not only exceptional professional expertise, but also tremendous passion for saving lives.”
