Roman Matlaga Wins 2008 People Saving People(TM) Award

Roman Matlaga played basketball on Sunday mornings at the Lakeside Elementary School in Honesdale, Penn., for 15 years. This particular Sunday morning—February 18, 2007—he was joined by some of the regulars and first-timer, David Belkin, 65, of Bethesda, MD. Right after taking a shot, Belkin stumbled backwards into the stands. The vision of the SCA Foundation is to increase awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and influence attitudinal and behavioral changes that will reduce mortality and morbidity from SCA.
