Just before Christmas last year, a school nurse saved the life of one of her co-workers using CPR and AED.
Last year our training center taught selected individuals from all area elementary and middle schools CPR/AED course. This school nurse was in one of our classes. AEDs were placed in all elementary and middle schools as well as selected school district offices throughout town with a partial grant from the American Heart Association. Our training center taught approximately 270 people from these schools over a period of about a month last spring. We will retrain the district every two years. Our area high schools have had AEDs for several years, and an additional AED was placed in high schools with money from this grant.
