Terry:

Although you don't know me, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for being there, right where you were needed, to save that young woman's life.

My daughter, Emily Rose Adamczak would have been 15 years old this past November.  She passed away on June 15, 2009 of Sudden Cardiac Death due to an anomalous origin of the left coronary artery.  She was on the soccer field, during practice, that I was helping to coach.  This soccer field was away from any place that would have held an AED unit.  Even when the first responders arrived, there was not an AED immediately available.  It wasn't until the paramedics arrived that they were able to defib Emily.

I promise I won't make you cry, or bring back up all of those emotions that are so close to the surface for you, but please know this, the gift you have given her family, is a blessing.  You went through the training on how to use an AED, you were there.  You saved someone's life.  You are a real life hero.  May you know that everything you do will have ripple effects.  Every smile you share, every hand you shake, every hug you give.  It all matters.  All the time.

Thank you, from a mom whose child didn't make it, but will never be forgotten.

Annette
