Mission and Vision

The mission of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Foundation is to prevent death and disability from sudden cardiac arrest. The vision of the SCA Foundation is to increase awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and influence attitudinal and behavioral changes that will reduce mortality and morbidity from SCA. Specifically, we envision that our efforts will help:

• Increase the rate of bystander CPR from 20% to 30% within 5 years
• Double the use of AEDs outside the hospital within 5 years (increase from <5% to 10%)
• Double the rate of survival to hospital discharge within 10 years (increase from 7% to 14%)
